Jim The Goblin | An OSR Companion NPC
A downloadable game
Jim the Goblin is a scrawny, filthy, and deeply unfortunate-looking human who has spent most of his life being mistaken for a goblin. And frankly, it’s easier not to argue. He clings to adventuring parties like a stubborn rash, offering his “expertise” in dungeon survival, trap lore, and goblin customs (none of which are reliable, but all of which are weirdly specific). Somehow, Jim always survives. He’s either incredibly lucky or a cursed little gremlin in human skin.
Jim is an NPC, companion, punching bag, comic relief, red herring, and occasional unlikely hero. Whether your party befriends him, exploits him, or feeds him to a monster is entirely up to you, but one thing’s certain: Jim will make an impression.
Perfect for GMs looking to add a grimly funny wildcard to their campaign, or for players who want to torment their group with a tag-along freak no one asked for.
Fully system-agnostic and works with any OSR or fantasy-adjacent ruleset (like Mörk Borg, Knave, OSE, Cairn, Into the Odd, etc.)
